Scott Brown Board Member

My name is Scott Brown and I have served as a board member for SCI Nova Scotia since its inception. I sat as the founding president and am honored to sit on the board and see our chapter grow. I am looking forward to being involved with SCI as a board member for years to come.

I was Born in Alberta and grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, pursuing both elk and bighorn sheep whenever possible. From a very young age, I have loved the outdoors and everything that it has to offer. I started hunting at a later age in life, but have always been connected to the outdoor lifestyle and spend any extra time allowed out in the woods. I enjoy rifle hunting and am also looking at the chance to pick up bow hunting. I have hunted in several provinces, and have also had opportunities to hunt in Europe and South Africa as well.

I Started this Chapter to give a voice to the region’s hunting and fishing community. To give a platform to those that want their pursuits in the outdoors to go unhindered, to stop being challenged because of their desire to provide for family, both recreation and sustenance. I am really looking forward to seeing this regions SCI chapter grow and give that voice to our community.

Morgan Bruce Board Member

Morgan was born and raised in a small fishing community on the St. Margaret’s Bay where she spent her childhood by the water or in the woods. She has always had a passion for the wellbeing of the environment and the animals that live there. Having these core values taught to her from a young age has helped shape her life in a way where she is now in a place to help make a difference.

Recreational fishing and hunting are fairly new to Morgan. She spent lots of time around this world with people in her life but never did much participating. In the past 2-3 years she has learned a lot about the importance of ethical hunting and fishing. It has become very important to Morgan to help educate the public about how beneficial these things are.

Brody Nelson Board Member

Brody is an extremely passionate angler and new found hunter. Growing up in rural Nova Scotia, conservation was a big part of his upbringing.  Seeing a healthy ecosystem that generations will be able to enjoy is what fuels his mindset.

Brody’s favourite way to spend his time is walking along the Shubie river banks chasing striped bass, throwing a dry fly for that next big trout or in the woods on the hunt for the buck of a lifetime. As an avid hard water angler, the Nova Scotia winters are what he looks forward to the most every year. Brody enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge with people who are new to the outdoors. He is always willing to educate anyone who wants to learn and tag along.

John Lynch Board Member

John was born in Bedford NS and has also lived in North End Dartmouth and the Eastern Shore. Along with his three brothers, John was in the woods at an early age. Led by his father who was an avid hunter and fisherman, he became a strong supporter of conservation and sustainability in all things wild. As a sheet metal worker and union leader, work, family and other interests in his mid life put the outdoors on the back burner. Upon retirement over 15 years ago, the outdoors once again became front and center. Hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking and wilderness camping again became a way of life. Working part time at Basspro/Cabela’s in the hunting department and being on the Board of Directors since inception, John brings a well rounded perspective to this organization that puts hunter advocacy and sustainability in the forefront.
